How Gemisfera works
Two paired devices — one per partner — show one shared plant floating behind a beam-splitter, where black is transparent and only the light is real. The plant grows, answers to the weather and the time of day, and reflects how much the couple checks in and tends it.
The plant
Health
Drains slowly over time (faster at higher Virtual time). Tending restores it — both partners together more than one alone. It never dies; it bottoms out and waits.
Checking in
Spin the knob to open the dial: how does it sit (heavy – light), then energy (still – charged). The mood reaches the plant; your partner sees only that you checked in, never the value.
A soft glow at the crown invites a check-in. The device chimes at most once a day, in daylight, and only when someone has been near it — left alone, it stays silent.
Seasons
Winter, spring, summer and autumn follow the real calendar and hemisphere, so one partner can be in winter while the other isn't.
Transitions ease in over about 50 seconds at 1×.
Winter
The thaw
When winter turns, frost and snow melt gradually, with beads of meltwater dripping from the branches.
Each branch greens back as its own snow melts — it always goes bare before it colours in.

Flat tree by default, or point cloud — a slowly rotating cloud of glowing points. Toggle it from the on-device menu or the Studio.
